Carlton pitched for St. Louis (NL) 1965-1971; Philadelphia (NL) 1972-1986; San Francisco (NL) 1986; Chicago (AL) 1986; Cleveland (AL) 1987; and Minnesota (AL) 1987-1988. He pitched in 741 games, made 709 starts and pitched 56 shutouts. One of Carlton's shutouts was with more than one catcher.
