Galvin pitched for Buffalo (NL) 1879-1895; Pittsburgh (AA) 1885-1886; Pittsburgh (NL) 1887-1889, 1891-1892; Pittsburgh (PL) 1890, and St. Louis (NL) 1892. He pitched in 705 games, made 681 starts, had 646 complete games (2nd all-time), and pitched 57 shutouts. One of Galvin's shutouts was with more than one catcher.
