Syl Johnson pitched for Detroit (AL) 1922-1925; St. Louis (NL) 1926-1933; Cincinnati (NL) 1934; and Philadelphia (NL) 1934-1940. He pitched in 542 games, made 209 starts, had 82 complete games and pitched 11 shutouts. All of Johnson's shutouts were with one catcher.
